Leslie Stebbins is the Director of research4Ed and the Director for Research at Consulting Services for Education (CS4Ed).

She has more than twenty-five years of experience in higher education with a background in library and information science, instructional design, research and teaching. She has a Masters in Education from the Learning Design, Innovation, and Technology Program at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Masters in Information Science from Simmons College.

For twenty years she co-created and led information and literacy and research skills programs at Brandeis University and also taught instructional design methods to faculty. More recently she has worked on formative evaluation and instructional design projects related to online learning and OER and also provided content strategy, COI development, and iterative design support for learning tools.

Her current passion is in design research, value sensitive design, moral sandboxing and humane technology for building next generation digital public spaces.

Leslie Stebbins is the author of numerous articles and five books including Finding Reliable Information Online: Adventures of an Information Sleuth. Her new book Building Back Truth in an Age of Misinformation will be published by Rowman & Littlefield in March 2023 and has received generous support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Program for Public Understanding in Science, Technology & Economics.
